The Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) is a work pass issued by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) in Singapore. It is designed for high-earning foreign professionals who wish to work and live in Singapore independently of any specific employer. The PEP allows holders greater flexibility and freedom compared to other work passes.
Here are some key features of the Personalised Employment Pass:
Flexibility: PEP holders are not tied to any specific employer or job role. They can switch jobs within Singapore without reapplying for a new work pass.
Duration: The PEP is initially granted for three years and can be renewed for another three years upon meeting certain eligibility criteria.
Eligibility: To be eligible for the PEP, applicants must have earned a fixed monthly salary of at least SGD 12,000 in the previous six months before applying. They must also have held a valid Employment Pass or S Pass in Singapore at the time of application.
Validity: The PEP is valid for a maximum of six years. After the expiry of the PEP, holders must secure another type of work pass or obtain permanent residency (PR) if they wish to continue living and working in Singapore.
Dependent Privileges: PEP holders can bring certain family members (spouse, children, and parents) to live with them in Singapore on Dependant’s Passes.
Criteria for Renewal: To renew the PEP after three years, applicants must have remained employed in Singapore and earned a minimum fixed monthly salary of SGD 144,000 in the preceding year.
