Short answer: To get an InvoiceNow Peppol ID, choose a solution from IMDA’s accredited list of InvoiceNow-Ready Solution Providers, or an Access Point Provider if you run your own ERP. The provider registers your UEN in the SG Peppol Directory, which gives you the ID. You then activate GST InvoiceNow submission so invoice data reaches IRAS.
Your InvoiceNow Peppol ID is the network address that lets your business send and receive e-invoices and, once you activate GST InvoiceNow submission, pass a copy of your invoice data to the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS). This is the onboarding how-to: who to approach, what the ID looks like, how long set-up takes and how to read IRAS’s implementation-date notice. For the mandate itself, see our guides on what the GST InvoiceNow mandate means and the rollout timeline to 2031.
Key facts at a glance
- IRAS sets out three onboarding steps: get an InvoiceNow-Ready Solution, register in the SG Peppol Directory with your UEN to obtain a Peppol ID, and activate the GST InvoiceNow submission feature.
- In IRAS’s e-Tax Guide examples, a Singapore entity’s Peppol ID uses scheme identifier 0195 and an endpoint of “SGUEN” plus the UEN, for example SGUEN202012345M.
- IRAS says onboarding may take as little as 3 months and most businesses finish within a year. In-house ERP users should allow 3 to 12 months to connect to IRAS.
- Voluntary GST registrants have been in scope since 1 November 2025 (companies applying within 6 months of incorporation) and 1 April 2026 (all new voluntary registrants).
- Existing GST-registered businesses join in phases from 1 April 2028 to 1 April 2031, based on total supplies in prescribed accounting periods ending in calendar year 2025.
- IRAS lists grants of S$1,000 for SMEs, S$5,000 for larger businesses and S$25,000 under the InvoiceNow Queen Bee Grant.

What is an InvoiceNow Peppol ID and why do you need one?
A Peppol ID is your business’s unique address on InvoiceNow, Singapore’s e-invoicing network built on the international Peppol standard. Without one, you cannot send e-invoices on the network or submit invoice data to IRAS through it.
IRAS’s e-Tax Guide “Adopting GST InvoiceNow Requirement for GST-Registered Businesses” (Second Edition, 9 March 2026) describes the Peppol ID as the address that lets businesses receive e-invoices and e-orders through InvoiceNow. The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) launched InvoiceNow in 2019 and is Singapore’s appointed Peppol Authority. Two terms recur:
- InvoiceNow-Ready Solution Provider (IRSP): an accounting or finance software provider accredited by IMDA as connected to InvoiceNow.
- Access Point Provider (AP): a service provider that acts as the gateway to the network. IRAS receives its copy of your invoice data through accredited APs by API.
Your IRSP or AP registers you for a Peppol ID and updates your details in the Service Metadata Publisher, which is how you appear in the public SG Peppol Directory.
How do you get a Peppol ID in Singapore, step by step?
You do not apply to IRAS or IMDA directly. Your InvoiceNow-Ready Solution Provider or Access Point Provider registers your business in the SG Peppol Directory using your UEN, and that gives you your Peppol ID.
The sequence IRAS publishes on its GST InvoiceNow Requirement page and in its onboarding guide depends on how you invoice today:
| Your set-up | Step 1 | Step 2: Peppol ID | Step 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Off-the-shelf accounting software | Check your software is on IMDA’s accredited IRSP list; if not, move to an accredited IRSP | IRSP registers your UEN in the SG Peppol Directory | Activate GST InvoiceNow submission |
| In-house ERP or enterprise system | Engage an IMDA-accredited AP, directly or via your systems integrator | AP registers your UEN in the SG Peppol Directory | Connect your system to IRAS with the AP, then activate submission |
| No system yet, or unsure | Take up a free-of-charge InvoiceNow-Ready package or another accredited IRSP | IRSP registers your UEN in the SG Peppol Directory | Activate GST InvoiceNow submission |
In practice:
- Open IMDA’s accredited IRSP list, linked from the IRAS page. The version we checked was updated as of 1 October 2026 (the AP list as of 21 September 2026), so always use the current one.
- Confirm your product and plan include the GST InvoiceNow submission feature, not just e-invoice sending.
- Make sure the company name, UEN, GST registration number and address in your software match your ACRA and IRAS records.
- Ask the provider to register you in the SG Peppol Directory, then search the directory to confirm your listing.
RCS does not recommend particular software for this. Use IMDA’s list and compare on fit, support and cost.
What does a Peppol ID look like for a Singapore company?
In IRAS’s e-Tax Guide examples, a Singapore entity’s Peppol ID combines scheme identifier 0195 with an endpoint of “SGUEN” followed by the UEN. A company with UEN 202012345M appears as SGUEN202012345M under scheme 0195.
The guide shows the scheme ID as auto-populated by the software, so you will rarely type it, but check it on your first live invoice. To invoice a customer on the network, look up their Peppol ID in the SG Peppol Directory. For sole proprietors, the e-Tax Guide says to use the Peppol ID registered under the business’s UEN or, where there is no UEN, the one registered under the GST registration number.
How do you activate GST InvoiceNow submission?
A Peppol ID alone sends nothing to IRAS. You must also switch on the GST InvoiceNow submission feature in your solution, or have your AP enable it for an in-house system.
IRAS’s FAQ (version 23 September 2026) confirms that, until the feature is activated, Peppol invoices to customers go through as usual but are not transmitted to IRAS. Once it is on, IRAS receives a copy of Peppol invoices automatically. For PDF or paper invoices issued outside the network, and for purchase invoices you record, the data is extracted from your solution and sent regularly, for example daily or weekly.
- Ask your IRSP or AP how the feature is activated and who in your company must authorise it.
- Test first. IRAS has offered a sandbox for API testing since September 2024; ask your provider about end-to-end tests.
- Check the right transactions flow: generally standard-rated and zero-rated supplies and purchases, and exempt supplies, as reported in your GST return.
- Reconcile a trial run of submitted data against your GST return figures, and train the staff who raise invoices and record bills.
Invoice data is due by the earlier of the date you file the relevant GST return or its filing due date. Existing duties continue, including keeping records for at least 5 years.
How long does InvoiceNow onboarding take?
IRAS states that onboarding may take as little as 3 months and that most businesses complete set-up within a year. For in-house enterprise solutions, the e-Tax Guide says to allow 3 to 12 months for system connection to IRAS.
| Situation | Lead time IRAS indicates | What drives the time |
|---|---|---|
| Already on an accredited InvoiceNow-Ready Solution | As little as 3 months | Registration, activation, testing, training |
| Changing accounting solution | Most finish within a year | Data migration, GST tax-code mapping, testing |
| In-house ERP through an AP | 3 to 12 months to connect to IRAS | Integration build, IT refresh cycles, multiple entities |
Work backwards from your mandatory date, and treat a year as the planning figure if you are changing systems.
When must your business comply with the GST InvoiceNow requirement?
New registrants are covered from their registration date under the voluntary or compulsory phases. Existing businesses are phased by total supplies (Box 4 of the GST return) in prescribed accounting periods ending in calendar year 2025.
| Implementation date | Who it applies to |
|---|---|
| 1 November 2025 | Companies registering for GST voluntarily within 6 months of incorporation |
| 1 April 2026 | Anyone applying for voluntary GST registration on or after 1 April 2026 |
| 1 April 2028 | New compulsory registrants applying on or after 1 April 2028; existing businesses with total annual supplies of S$200,000 or less |
| 1 April 2029 | Existing businesses with total annual supplies of S$1,000,000 or less |
| 1 April 2030 | Existing businesses with total annual supplies of S$4,000,000 or less |
| 1 April 2031 | Existing businesses with total annual supplies above S$4,000,000 |
For voluntary registrants the requirement is a condition of registration: IRAS’s FAQ warns that an application may not be approved, or registration may be revoked, for non-compliance. See our guide on how to apply for GST registration. The e-Tax Guide notes that legislative amendments for the phases from 1 April 2028 will be enacted later. Overseas entities with section 33(1) local agents, Overseas Vendor Registration registrants and businesses registered only because of reverse charge are excluded.
How do you read your implementation-date notification, and what if none arrived?
IRAS has notified businesses registered for GST before 2026 of their mandatory InvoiceNow implementation date from mid-2026. That date is when submissions must start, so your Peppol ID and activation must be in place before it.
- Compare the date with the phase table above.
- Check it with IRAS’s GST InvoiceNow Implementation Date Calculator (an Excel file on the IRAS page). Periods ending March, June, September and December use January to December 2025; periods ending January, April, July and October use November 2024 to October 2025; periods ending February, May, August and November use December 2024 to November 2025.
- If your 2025 returns cover less than 365 days, extrapolate. In the e-Tax Guide example, S$1.5 million over 328 days becomes S$1,669,207, placing the business in the 1 April 2030 phase.
- Nil returns count: four nil returns mean S$0 supplies and the 1 April 2028 phase.
If you received no notification, IRAS says this can happen where a business has no GST returns for periods ending in calendar year 2025; it will communicate the date later and give sufficient time to prepare. Dates for members of GST groups and divisions will also be communicated later. If you share an ERP system within a commercial arrangement such as a franchise and need more time, IRAS’s FAQ says you may write in to request an extension, with reasons and documents.
What support is available for InvoiceNow onboarding?
IRAS lists grants and free packages that cover much of the cost for smaller businesses.
- GST InvoiceNow Transition Grant: S$1,000 for SMEs (annual supplies of S$4,000,000 or less) and S$5,000 for larger businesses.
- InvoiceNow Queen Bee Grant: S$25,000 for larger businesses with annual turnover above S$4,000,000.
- Free-of-charge InvoiceNow-Ready packages are available up to 31 March 2031. The current list runs to 31 March 2027, with the later list to follow.

Frequently asked questions
Can I register for a Peppol ID without a provider?
No. Under IRAS’s published steps, your InvoiceNow-Ready Solution Provider or Access Point Provider registers you in the SG Peppol Directory with your UEN.
I already send e-invoices on InvoiceNow. Am I submitting to IRAS?
Not necessarily. Invoices are not transmitted to IRAS until the GST InvoiceNow submission feature is activated. Ask your provider.
Can I onboard before my mandatory date?
Yes, and IRAS encourages it, so you have time to fix teething issues.
Does InvoiceNow replace my GST return?
No. You still file GST returns and keep records. Our earlier InvoiceNow guide explains how they fit together.
Where are the official provider lists?
The IRAS page links to IMDA’s lists of accredited IRSPs and APs and to the free package list. Detail is in the IRAS e-Tax Guide on the GST InvoiceNow Requirement.
