Business Adaptation Grant (BizAdapt) Singapore 2026: Eligibility, Activities & How to Apply

Published on: 10 May, 2026

Singapore’s trade landscape shifted dramatically in the first half of 2026. The ripple effects of US tariff measures sent Singapore-based exporters and manufacturers scrambling to reassess their supply chains, redirect their sales pipelines, and rethink their operational structures. In response, the Singapore government launched the Business Adaptation Grant (BizAdapt) — a targeted, time-limited scheme to help companies adapt, survive, and pivot.

This guide explains everything Singapore business owners need to know about the Business Adaptation Grant in 2026: what it covers, who qualifies, how to apply, and what to expect.

What Is the Business Adaptation Grant (BizAdapt)?

The Business Adaptation Grant — formally known as BizAdapt — is a grant scheme administered by Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG). It was announced in Parliament on 7 October 2025 and has been accepting applications since. It is a time-limited scheme, running until 6 October 2027.

BizAdapt is designed specifically to help Singapore enterprises that export to or operate in overseas markets adapt their business operations and strengthen supply chain resilience. It is not a general-purpose grant — it targets companies whose business model is directly exposed to external disruptions, particularly the US tariff environment.

The grant operates in two broad tracks:

  • Advisory support: Engaging pre-approved vendors to study and plan operational changes.
  • Reconfiguration support: Funding actual reconfiguration of logistics and inventory infrastructure.

Each eligible company can claim up to a total of S$100,000 over the two-year scheme period.

What the Grant Covers: The Four Supported Activities

EnterpriseSG has defined four distinct activities under BizAdapt:

Activity 1 — Supply Chain Advisory

Engage a pre-approved advisory vendor to review your current supply chain, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend optimisation strategies. This applies to any Singapore company with overseas exports or operations, regardless of whether it has been directly affected by tariffs.

Activity 2 — Market Diversification Advisory

For companies specifically impacted by tariff measures, engage advisors to assess alternative markets and develop a market diversification roadmap. This requires that you demonstrate direct tariff impact.

Activity 3 — Business Operations Advisory

For tariff-impacted companies, engage advisors on restructuring operations — covering areas such as production relocation analysis, sourcing substitution, and business model pivoting.

Activity 4 — Reconfiguration Support

For companies that own at least 51% of local or overseas manufacturing operations and have been impacted by tariffs, this activity funds the actual costs of reconfiguring logistics and inventory holding — covering logistics restructuring costs and inventory holding during the transition period.

Who Qualifies for BizAdapt?

To be eligible for the Business Adaptation Grant, your company must satisfy all of the following:

  • Registered and operating in Singapore
  • At least 30% local equity held directly or indirectly by Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents (determined by ultimate individual ownership)
  • Exporting to or operating in overseas markets (required for all four activities)
  • Directly impacted by tariff measures (required for Activities 2, 3, and 4)

Who is excluded?
Charities, Institutions of Public Characters (IPCs), Religious Entities, Voluntary Welfare Organisations, Government agencies and their subsidiaries, and societies are not eligible for BizAdapt.

Note that there is no SME-only restriction — both SMEs and larger companies may apply, though support rates differ.

How Much Does BizAdapt Pay?

The support level under BizAdapt was enhanced from 1 April 2026:

Entity Type Support Level
SMEs Up to 70% of qualifying costs
Non-SMEs Up to 50% of qualifying costs

The overall grant cap is S$100,000 per company over the two-year period. This cap applies across all activities combined — not per activity.

A Singapore SME with S$143,000 in qualifying costs could, for instance, claim up to S$100,000 under the enhanced 70% tier (70% × S$143,000 ≈ S$100,000).

How to Apply for the Business Adaptation Grant

BizAdapt applications are submitted through the Business Grants Portal (BGP) at businessgrants.gov.sg. The process is broadly similar to other Enterprise Singapore grants:

  1. Determine your activity — decide which of the four activities is most relevant to your business situation.
  2. Select a pre-approved vendor — EnterpriseSG maintains a panel of pre-approved vendors for advisory activities. You must engage a vendor from this panel for Activities 1 to 3.
  3. Submit your application via BGP — apply before signing any contracts or making payments with your vendor. Applications submitted after commitment will not be accepted.
  4. Receive Letter of Offer — EnterpriseSG will assess your application and, if approved, issue a Letter of Offer specifying the approved activities and grant quantum.
  5. Execute the project — carry out the approved activities with your vendor within the permitted timeline.
  6. Submit claims — once the project is complete, submit your claims with supporting invoices and deliverables.

Important: Do not commence work or make any payments before your application is approved and a Letter of Offer has been issued. This is a hard rule for all Enterprise Singapore grants.

BizAdapt and Other Available Grants

BizAdapt is designed to complement, not replace, Singapore’s other enterprise support schemes. Singapore businesses should be aware of the broader grant landscape:

BizAdapt can potentially be used alongside other grants provided the costs are distinct and non-overlapping. The same cost item cannot be funded by two different grants simultaneously.

After Approval: Claims and Compliance

Once your grant is approved, you must comply with EnterpriseSG’s reporting and claims requirements. You will need to:

  • Retain all invoices, contracts, and vendor deliverables
  • Submit progress reports if required by your Letter of Offer
  • File claims within the stipulated deadlines

Our detailed guide to post-grant compliance walks you through the claims and audit process step by step.

Key Dates to Note

Milestone Date
BizAdapt scheme opens 7 October 2025
Enhanced support (70% SME / 50% non-SME) 1 April 2026
Last date to apply 6 October 2027

Plan your application well ahead of the October 2027 deadline. Enterprise Singapore grant application queues can lengthen significantly as deadlines approach.

Conclusion

The Business Adaptation Grant is one of Singapore’s most targeted and timely grant interventions in recent years. For exporters and manufacturers navigating a volatile global trade environment, it provides meaningful co-funding for the advisory and operational changes needed to stay competitive.
