Typically, our blog posts would be about how to run a company, accounting and tax matters or employment related topics. This article is going to be very different. This is an article to explain the unique proposition Raffles Corporate Services offers to corporate clients in today’s saturated corporate services market.
Raffles Corporate Services Pte Ltd (RCS) was incorporated on the 1st of January 2023. It was a merger of sorts of two practices. A coming together of two corporate service providers (CSPs). One with a significant portfolio of SME clients and another with a distinct portfolio of accounting and tax clients. Three years later, RCS is going strong. It is greater than the sum of the two CSPs which it evolved from. We are proud to say that we have grown our portfolio of clients significantly. The company has its own office in Manhattan House. This is a strategically chosen location as it is close to the courts and at the fringe of Singapore’s central business district. Importantly, the office is owned by RCS. RCS did not want to be held hostage by landlords who would raise rents. So yes, the office that clients visit us, that belongs to the company.
So why do clients come to RCS? In the age of artificial intelligence and outsourcing, there are many CSPs that do not offer personalised service. If clients require assistance, they have to send an email or a message via an app. They do not contact their named secretary. This is not the case at RCS. We offer personalised service. Clients are placed in a WhatsApp chat with the team. If clients need something urgently, they can reach out via WhatsApp. They can also hop on a call with members of the team or visit the RCS office. Yes, the person you see on WhatsApp or that face you see when someone from RCS emails you, that will be the exact person you meet in person in the office. RCS does not outsource the dealing of precious clients to someone in a foreign country. RCS does outsource some of its work. For example, during tax filing season, the accounting and tax advisory team may be overwhelmed by the work and may outsource some work to, for example, an accountant in Malaysia. However, the relevant RCS team will check on quality and accuracy of the outsourced work.
While RCS’s fees are not the cheapest, they are competitively priced. There is no way for RCS to compete with CSPs with thousands of clients and an army of customer service support staff in say, the Philippines or India. RCS prides itself on the fact that clients’ queries are answered by the relevant specialist with years of experience in the corporate service arena. Of course if you are someone looking for the cheapest, and you do not require much support, then you should go to a CSP with lower cost support. However, if you are someone who needs support for things like share allotment, secretarial support in drafting documents like investment agreements, shareholder agreements, GST filing, corporate tax filing, etc… then you need to be with a CSP like RCS.
Oh and RCS is truly one-stop. We have your typical corporate services like incorporation and corporate secretarial support. We do accounting, taxes as well as provide HR support like preparation of payroll. As we have our own in-house Ministry of Manpower Employment Agency licence, we can also apply for any type of work pass for clients. Even foreign domestic workers (i.e. maids)! We also assist clients in finding buyers for their companies if they have the intention of selling. We can help source for investment as well as apply for various licences (i.e. MAS).
However, I cannot stress this enough. The main difference and RCS’s unique advantage is that we DO NOT outsource the customer servicing portion of our work. Moving forward, we have no intention to do so as well.
