The Group Says Pillar Two Registration Was Done: Verify the Singapore Entity Coverage

Calculator and financial papers in a folder

If an overseas parent says Pillar Two registration is complete, obtain the actual evidence and confirm the Singapore entity coverage. A short group message may refer to a different jurisdiction or filing obligation.

Registration, information returns, tax calculations and payment are separate workstreams.

Confirm whether the group is in scope

Use the group’s facts and IRAS’s registration guidance. It includes the consolidated €750 million revenue threshold for at least two of the four preceding financial years and relevant Singapore entity connections.

A local subsidiary’s small turnover does not, by itself, answer the group-level scope question.

Example: an overseas registration is supplied

The parent sends an acknowledgement from its home authority. Ask for the Singapore registration information and relevant local coverage rather than assuming one country’s process completes every other jurisdiction’s requirement.

Reconcile the registration file

Ask group and local advisers to reconcile entity names and identifiers. A restructuring or acquisition may require particular attention to the actual relevant period.

Check the actual deadline rather than a generic June date

IRAS requires registration within six months after the end of the first applicable group financial year. Its calendar-year 2025 example gives 30 June 2026, a date already past as at 15 October 2026.

If the actual deadline was missed or completion is uncertain, obtain specialist advice promptly. Do not backdate an internal checklist to suggest timely submission.

Assign ongoing responsibility

Keep registration evidence with the group tax calendar and distinguish it from later return and payment requirements. Agree who owns local information, group calculations and official responses.

Does registration prove the group owes no top-up tax?

No. The calculation and applicable reliefs require separate review.
